Three Services
The right level of care for every piece
Cogwright offers three distinct service types — each addressing a different need, each carried out at the same careful pace with the same documentation standards.
Back to HomeOur Methodology
One process, applied consistently
Regardless of which service a watch requires, the Cogwright process starts the same way: intake documentation, a written condition assessment, and your agreement before any work begins. This structure applies whether the piece is coming in for a standard cleaning or a full complication overhaul.
Each service concludes with a timing check on calibrated equipment, a written service record, and a conversation at collection about what was found and what to watch for in the years ahead.

Suited to quartz and mechanical pieces due for periodic care. Includes gasket inspection and a written record of the work carried out.
What is included
- Full movement disassembly and inspection
- Ultrasonic cleaning with watch-grade solutions
- Grade-appropriate lubrication per component
- Timing regulation and multi-position check
- Gasket inspection (water resistance seals)
- Written service record on collection
Service 02
Case & Dial Refinishing
Gentle case polishing, crystal replacement, and dial detailing that respects the original character of the piece. A measured approach focused on preserving rather than over-restoring. Includes a pre-work assessment so the owner can review the planned steps first — nothing is done on assumption.
What is included
- Case surface assessment and pre-work summary
- Careful polishing or brushing to agreed finish
- Crystal inspection and replacement
- Dial cleaning and detailing
- Crown and pushers checked
- Written record of all work performed
Service 03
Complication & Heritage Overhaul

What is included
- Full complication disassembly and caliber research
- Component inspection under stereo microscope
- Part sourcing or refurbishment where applicable
- Chronograph function adjustment and testing
- Stage-by-stage documentation shared with owner

Across All Services
Technical standards we hold to
Chain of Custody
Each piece carries a bench reference from intake to collection. No watch moves between workstations without a logged handoff.
Owner Consent Protocol
Additional work identified during service is not performed without a conversation, a revised scope, and your agreement.
Calibrated Equipment
Timing checks on calibrated multi-position equipment. Readings included in your service record.
Swiss-Specification Lubricants
Moebius oils and greases applied at the correct grade for each component type. Never universal substitutes.
Reference-Based Servicing
Movement specifications confirmed before opening. Vintage calibers researched against technical documentation specific to that reference.
Full Written Record
Every service produces a written document for the owner. Not an internal note — a record in plain language for your keeping.
